St. Peter’s Mission
Talbehat Mission was pioneered by Fr. William D’Souza. It began with a purpose
of providing medical care to the villagers. The CTC sisters have continued the
healthcare mission and are looking after the dispensary. The mission has a priest house, convent, hostel and above all a Church with 20-25 Catholics. In 2001, St. Joseph Vaz Vidya Niketan was started by Fr. Vincent Albert to attend to the educational need of the children of the place. The school is situated 6 kms away from the mission. Fr. Arulraj took over from Fr. Richard Sequeira. Currently, Fr Oswil D’Souza is the parish priest and Fr A. Freddy who is the present principal of the school will be replaced by Fr Melwin D’Souza.
