Men Religious

  1. Salesians of Don Bosco: We have Salesians of Don Bosco from 2008. Two priests and one brother. Prime land approximately 4 acres in the vicinity of Cathedral Church has been assigned to them as  was preserved for youth attention for over 30 years.
  2. CMSF: We have CMSF Brothers since 1988 in our Diocese t whom our Diocesan brotherhood FBBS of 1941  foundation was amalgamated. They are working in Premnagar St. Jude’s School and Ashram.
  3. MMB: In 1995 we invited an oriental congregation of Malabar Missionary Brothers in Judepur to attend to the mentally and physically challenged children doing good work.
  4. Heralds of Good News: In 2009 We welcomed the Heralds of Good news a clerical Missionary congregation who are presently putting into effect a formation Heralds of Good News were invited by Bishop Frederick D’Souza from 2009 and they established their minor seminary ( Formation centre in Ambabai, Made a school in 2013 onwards and now started a convent and invited Satya Seva sisters to assist them in the school Apostolate.
  5. OFM: 2011 Order of Friars Minor from Bangalore has come to Pakdilpur mission with a big farm. Diocese handed over this mission to the religious order that they take care of the farm, parish which was established in 1946 and a school and dispensary run by the Deena Sevana sisters for the benefit the villagers who are Kol tribe.
  6. O’Cam: 2017 Order of Carmelits were invited to establish an Ashram and a formation centre in Orai in the district of Jalaun. They are at present in Rajendra Nagar running a formation centre and two priests and one brother training the students for priesthood.

Women religious

  1. J.: Congregation of Jesus the oldest in the Diocese from 1913 St. Francis Convent School + 2 for girls, Nirmala Convent since 1945 with a +2  for girls in Hindi, manning a Diocesan Hindi medium school +2 for boys and girls St. Mary’s in Mauranipur  since 1987 and a maternity clinic from 2010.
  2. cfmss: CFMSS sisters have assisting us through their personnel at Mahoba since 1979, St. Josephs Hindi Medium School co-educational.
  3. Msi: Missionary sisters of Immaculate Conception( MSI) Nirmala sisters accepted the invitation of Bishop Frederick D’Souza and collaborated in the mission of st. Mary’s Mission Gursarai, Jhansi Dt.
  4. cssj: Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Chambery ( CSSJ) have been serving in the Diocese of Jhansi from 1970 manning the Diocesan Hospital of St. Jude’s Hospital in Sipri. They run the hospital admirably quite concerned about the poor with two convents for the sake of numbers of sisters. They also run a school of Nursing with credible efficiency . Help also in the parish church of Our Lady of Perpetual help at the Altar and Parish activities. Now we have BSc. Nursing also started and we have more than
  5. ctc: Sisters of the Congregation of Theresian Carmelites (CTC) came into the Diocese in 1968 with a community at the Shrine of St. Jude taking care of the church and Sacristy. Running the St. Joseph’s Hindi Medium X std. School for boys and girls.running a dispensary at Bangwan Kalan in village Talbehat since 1986 and teaching in Joseph Vaz school Talbehat since 2001 . Establishing a provincial house in Hansari and Pushpa Convent school since 1992, a formation house in Judepur, Buda village since 1999, a typewiriting, computer institute at St. Jude’s Shrine , Jhansi.
  6. dsh: Daughters of Sacred Heart have been in the Diocese from 1949 onwards running a foundling home for children orphaned or abandoned with a provincial house, a novitiate in Jhansi , formation house in Lalitpur, running their own High schools in Paricha (1988) Centenary School (2003) in Orai and helping in the Diocese in Dominic savio School , Lalitpur since (1954) BHEL (1977) CKC Junior (1977) St. Mary’s Banda (1997) Cathedral (1989).
  7. dss: Deena Sevana Sabha were invited in 1990 to Jharia village dispensary of St. Therese in Little Flower abandoned by DSH sisters in1996. They took up Pakdilpur dispensary abandoned by CSN sisters in 2004 with a doctor sister from their congregation Diocese built a dispensary for them in Mehroni. They have been most successful and cheerful sisters especially for the poor and villagers.
  8. MC: MC sistes of Mother Teresa came to Jhansi in 1960 at the time of the 1stBishop of Jhansi Rt. Rev. Francis Xavier Fenech. One of the earliest homes of Blessed Mother Tereas. In 1996 they have opened another Home in Panari village in the district Lalitpur.
  9. Venerini sisters: Maestre Pie Venerini Sisters took up assistance to newly started schools in Atarra and Karvi in 2004. They give hopes of village apostolate once they establish rapport with the local populace.
  10. SJS: Sant Joseph Sevikas from Indore came into Jhansi under Mother Baptista in 1994. Given a social service centre and to care for senior citizen home in Jhansi in 1995 . Given a dispensary to run in Mahoba in 2004.
  11. Osu: Ursuline sisters of Tildonk (OSU) came to help the Diocese in 2007 to replace UMI sisters of Lucknow at St. Mary’s School Masiha ganj in 2007 They were given also a convent at Babina to be assisting the Diocesan school in Babina , Jhansi in 2006.
  12. Sisters of charles borromeo: Sisters of St. Charles Borromeo have been given land in Judepur where they have built a formation house. The candidates undergo training & polishing before they go to Bangalore for Novitiate. So far have contribution by way of apostolate – not yet got into the pangs of Diocesan need.

In 2013 They were invited to serve in a mission called Kalpi mission They readily accepted the offer and send three sisters to work in the school Apostolate.  In 2016 again these sisters were invited to serve another station called Nayakheda in Babina. They spared three other sisters to serve in the school apostolate in Babina High school.

  1. msi: Missionary sisters of Mary immaculate ( MSI) in 2008 we got the Assistance of MSI at gursarai for school and medical Apostolate Gursarai Mission was started in 2007. We have lots to accomplish there. We  have  built a convent & chapel for the entire Catholic Community.
  2. sabs: SABS sisters Adorers of the Blessed Sacrament though an oriental congregation, knowing their efficiency and worth I invited them to Jhansi Diocese where they had no house as I knew them in undivided Diocese with Gwalior. They came in 2009 to Divine Mercy School Mavai Rd, Orai.
  3. psa: We have Prabhudasi (PSA) sisters of Ajmer province (2013) to Chirgaon Mission in 2011 April for Infant Jesus English Medium School we started in 2010 July.
  4. daughters of nazareth: 2014 Daughters of Nazareth ( Suore figlie Di Nazareth) Generalate in Pizza, Italy were invited to start a mission in Raksa. They were ready to collaborate with the diocese and start the village Apostolate and education ministry in the Raksa in Jhansi District
  5. uss: 2014 Ursuline sisters of Somasca(USS) from Mysore, Karnataka collaborated with the diocese in opening a station in Rath, Holy Angels Mission in Rath, Hamirpur District.
  6. missionary sisters of st teressa: 2014 Missionary Sisters of St. Teressa of Infant Jesus whose generalate in Cherupushpa Niwas, Umayannallor, Industrial Estate P.O. , Quilon -691589 from Kerala came to serve in the St. Rita’s Mission, Manikpur, Karvi District, U.P.
  7. cottolengo sisters: 2015 Congregation St. Joseph Benedict Cottolengo of Turin, via S.G. Cottolengo 14, Toronto, 19152, Italia delegate being from Bangalore were ready to collaborate in a mission named afterSt. John Paul II Mission, Moth, Jhansi district.
  8. rssh: 2016 The Reparatrix sisters of Sacred Heart (RSSH) Isabella De Rosis Convent, Rome. Italy started a mission farthest village of the diocese Madavara for social work and school apostolate.
  9. passionist sisters: 2016 Passionist sisters of St. Paul of the Cross came to collaborate in St. Xavier’s Mission and school in Simravari, Jhansi District.
  10. missionaries of sacred heart: 2017 Congregation of the little missionaries of Sacred Heart came to collaborate in the mission work in Mada, Mauranipur in the St. Mary’s Mission school Apostolate.
  11. little sisters of divine providence: 2017 Little sisters of Divine Providence from Italy came to collaborate in the mission work at Panwadi Holy cross mission and in the Holy cross school.
  12. Satya seva catechist sisters: 2017 Satya Seva Catechist sisters of families (SCs) came to collaborate of Harolds of Good news fathers in Heralds of Good news mission in Ambabai.
  13. St Ann’s of bangalore: 2017 St. Ann’s of Bangalore came to collaborate with the diocese in Lalitpur Don Bosco mission and Don Bosco school in Lalitpur District.

St. Ann’s started another station 2018 in Holy Family Mission, Semra.

St. Ann’s sisters erected another convent in St. Lawrence convent in Mehroni, Lalitpur district.

26 pallotines: 2018 Congregation of the sisters of the Catholic Apostolate( Pallotines) came to a new mission just started in Konch in Jalaun district.

27 our lady of sorrows: 2018 Sisters of Our Lady of Sorrows  collaborated with the diocese in Mamna village in Mahoba district, U.P. in St. Peters Mission and St. Peters Academy.

28 daughters of nazareth: 2018 Daughters of Nazareth from Piza, Italy Generalate, started their formation centre with four candidates in Senior Citizens home in civil Lines, Jhansi.

  1. john baptist sisters of bangalore: 2018 John Baptist sisters of Bangalore erected a convent in St. John’s Premnagar, for parish ministry and to work in the St. John’s Academy.
  2. Satya seva sisters: 2018 Satya Seva Sisters came to work with the Heralds of good news in Ambabai mission and in the school apostolate.
